OUR CHRISTIAN HERITAGE

Awhile back a post wes recieved at americanvoice1 the bottom line to which was “The Founding Documents of 1776-89, the DOI, Constitution and Federalist Papers have little to do with what is written in the Bible. That is why America in a public or civil sense, was NOT founded to be a “Christian Nation.” Do not be misled by David Barton.” The following is the majority of the reply.

As for the Department of the Interior, the libraries appear to have an abundance of material related to 17th and 18th century American Christianity.  When speaking of our Constitution and the Founding Fathers religious affiliation is abundantly clear. You can locate specific religious affiliation of the Founding Fathers both numerical and percentages at Adherent. Concerning the Federalist Papers not all eighty-five are read, that being said number nineteen does address the Protestant struggle in Europe.

Our Constitution ends saying “Done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven and of the Independence of the United States of America the Twelfth In witness whereof We have hereunto subscribed our Names,”. Our Constitution was not was not written in Latin Anno Domini (A.D.) therefore “Year of our Lord” is written out as it should have been. As a nation, we were dissolving ties with Europe. The Lord in question is Jesus Christ.

Our Declaration of Independence ends saying “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.” The only one divine Providence is the Lord God.

The Articles of Confederation end saying “Done at Philadelphia in the state of Pennsylvania the ninth Day of July in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and Seventy-eight, and in the third year of the independence of America.” The Articles of Confederation were written in English not Latin Anno Domini (A.D.) therefore “Year of our Lord” is written out, as it should have been. As a nation, we were dissolving ties with Europe. The Lord in question is Jesus Christ.

America in both a public and private sense has morals, values, ethics, and principals of a Christian nature entwined in our history providing our nation with a strong Christian heritage. It is because of that heritage that people of different faiths and backgrounds are welcome on our soil.

Be Thankful America

Luke AFB is west of Phoenix and is rapidly being surrounded by civilization that complains about the noise from the base and its planes, forgetting that it was there long before they were.  A certain lieutenant colonel at Luke AFB deserves a big pat on the back. Apparently, an individual who lives somewhere near Luke AFB wrote the local paper complaining about a group of F-16s that disturbed his/her day at the mall.

 When that individual read the response from a Luke AFB officer, it must have stung quite a bit.

 

 The complaint:

‘Question of the day for Luke Air Force Base:

 Whom do we thank for the morning air show? Last Wednesday, at precisely 9:11 A.M, a tight formation of four F-16 jets made a low pass over Arrowhead Mall, continuing west over Bell Road at approximately 500 feet. Imagine our good fortune!  Do the Tom Cruise-wannabes feel we need this wake-up call, or were they trying to impress the cashiers at Mervyns early bird special?

 Any response would be appreciated.

Regarding ‘A wake-up call from Luke’s jets’

On June 15, at precisely 9:12 a.m . , a perfectly timed four- ship fly by of F-16s from the 63rd Fighter Squadron at Luke Air Force Base flew over the grave of Capt. Jeremy Fresques. Capt Fresques was an Air Force officer who was previously stationed at Luke Air Force Base and was killed in Iraq on May 30, Memorial Day.  

 At   9 a.m.  on June 15, his family and friends gathered at  Sunland Memorial Park in   Sun City to mourn the loss of a husband, son and friend. Based on the letter writer’s recount of the fly by, and because of the jet noise, I’m sure you didn’t hear the 21-gun salute, the playing of taps, or my words to the widow and parents of Capt. Fresques as I gave them their son’s flag on behalf of the President of the United States and all those veterans and servicemen and women who understand the sacrifices they have endured. 

 A four-ship fly by is a display of respect the Air Force gives to those who give their lives in defense of   freedom. We are professional aviators and take our jobs seriously, and on June 15 what the letter writer witnessed was four officers lining up to pay their ultimate respects.

The letter writer asks, ‘Whom do we thank for the morning airshow? The 56th Fighter Wing will make the call for you, and forward your thanks to the widow and parents of Capt Fresques, and thank them for you, for it was in their honor that my pilots flew the most honorable formation of their lives.

 Only 2 defining forces have ever offered to die for you….Jesus   Christ and the American Soldier.

 One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Easter Sunday

Many people question scripture this is a good thing as long as one is searching for the answers. The truth is the Holy Bible is the infallible, inherent word of God. Moreover, if God is God and He is. The question of understanding becomes a matter of personal faith.

American Future

After reading Chad Groening article at One News Now titled “Will Obama ‘accelerate God’s judgment on America?” It became clear we know very little about President Elect Obama. To say that one person or another “will continue the disastrous policy of trying to force Israel to give up more of its covenant land” is the cause of America’s problems as collective issue is not the heart of the problem.

 

The list of specific reasons is long but here are a few to get the conversation started First, America as a nation has turned its back on the Lord God of the Bible. Second, it is not a man or woman, a group of men or women it is the nation as a whole who has failed to recognize the Lord God as Creator and Provider. Third as a nation we have failed to teach the coming generations responsibility for ones self and the nation in which they live.

 

America as a nation has forgotten God… Yes people go to church on Sunday and listen to the sermon. The question is do people live as God desires them to? Truthfully none of us can meet the expectation. However, this does not mean use God as a fire insurance we should make a concerted effort to do as God desires. Here is a place to begin our restoration as a nation. When God spoke with King Solomon God provided the answer to for the restoration process to begin and it still hold true today in the 21^st century “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2Chronicles 7:14 KJV

We the people of America who are Christians need to pray for the nation of Israel. Additionally, we should demand that our elected officials, including the President Elect, continue and insure the support of Israel without exception.

America needs to clean up around our front door. We the people of America who are Christians need to pray for our own nation. We should demand that our elected officials, including the President Elect, return America to the nation God intended. A nation established as a republic which operates with-in the limits set forth in our Constitution.

 

Strange we wonder why there is so much failure in America. The answer is so simple we as a nation miss it we do not see the forest for the trees. Many people in so not realize that in 1892 America was declared a Christian Nation by the Supreme Court of the United States of America “The case was the Church of the Holy Trinity vs. United States. The case was formed around the decision of Holy Trinity Church of New York City to hire a pastor from England. At the time there were laws preventing the hiring of foreigners for jobs that could and should be filled by Americans — but its intent was to prevent the hiring of cheaper unskilled labor from abroad, especially to work in the burgeoning railroad expansion — not to interfere with individual congregations and their pastoral selection process. The final opinion was authored by Justice David J. Brewer, and his comments have become a virtual encyclopedia of the many references to faith in the founding of America. He concludes: “No purpose of action against religion can be imputed to any legislation, state or national, because this is a religious people . . . This is a Christian nation.””

Many people will tell you this is a matter of the separation of church and state they are wrong… a loss of personal faith in the Lord God as provider is not a matter of or for the state to deal with it is a matter of your heart. Do you believe your provision in life is from man or from the Lord God?

 

We as American citizens have a responsibility to future generations to reach beyond ourselves and focus on our nation as a whole. Teach our youth literal truth and not how to interpolate words for personal gain as we have become accustomed to doing. Freedom is not free and absolutes do exist. Here are a few examples:

 

1.America is a constitutional republic not a democracy… Study history and you will find democracies fail

2.Article 1 section 1of  our constitution states the following: “All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives” So why have we the American citizen allow them to exceed their granted power?

3.Amendment 1 of the bill of rights states the following: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or  prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. So why are Christians criticized for their view in America.

4.The support of Israel is paramount to America turning our back on Israel is turning our back on God. Romans 13:1 NKJV says the following: “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.”

5.In truth it is not about a nation but a people and their personal decisions…God has done His part in the book of John Chapter 3:16-17 KJV it says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved”….of this you can be certain Failure to follow Gods plan will always lead you down the path of destruction.  

 

Thank God we live in America where we have the freedom of choice. We should cherish the provisions of God and know that His desire for our life is where one finds the success they search for. God desires Israel be what He intended not what man intends. There is no question the American support of Israel is necessary.

IF MY PEOPLE

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 CHR. 7-14

Amazingly, Senator Tom Colburn has hit the nail on the head. America as a nation has lost its understanding of accountability. That specific accountability is outlined in the Constitution of the United States of America. Article one section eight and the tenth amendment both specify the limits of Congress and address power of the states. By listening to these two videos, it becomes abundantly clear that both Senator Colburn and Senator Obama are concerned about the financial situation and America. However, each has a distinctly different way of dealing with the situation. Senator Colburn stands by our constitution and its limits. Senator Obama does not even address the issue constitutional limits and responsibility the senate is required to follow.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Article. I.

Section. 8.

The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

To borrow Money on the credit of the United States;

To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

Amendment X

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

One last comment, the Constitution of the United States of America is a flexible document as such capable of addressing the needs of our nation. When we fail to stand on the foundation as intended our stability as a nation is damaged.

WAKE UP AMERICA

Wake up America, Obama it is not the man for the job. That is right; he is not the man for the job. Why is he not the right man for the job you may ask? Use your common sense and the brain that good Lord has given you. Please consider the following:

In the article by Phil Brennan published October 27,2008 at www.newsmax.com. Senator Obama is quoted as saying if the Constitution of the United States of America “didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as its been interpreted and [the] Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties.” Senator Obama then continues the constitution “Says what the states can’t do to you, says what the Federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the Federal government or State government must do on your behalf.”

Hold it, just hold it the Warren court agreed there was a disparity between black people and white people in that we are all American citizens and should have equal treatment. The Warren court did not say our constitution or our government is responsible for each thing that happens if a person’s life. To clarify when government becomes responsible for everything in a person’s life that is socialism. When government treats everybody the same and all are equal you have a socialist society. The Warren court set out to correct a wrong and they did so. Senator Obama’s or for that matter anyone does not have the right change our Constitution because it does not fit their personal plan.

Our Constitution and our form of government with all those checks and balances have plenty of flexibility to meet the demands of the 21^st century. The constraints placed by our founding fathers are there because of the knowledge related to the monarchy and socialist system of England in the seventeen hundreds. It is true our constitution says what the states cannot do to you. This is a good thing considering that under socialism “spreading the wealth” the State and Federal government will be telling you exactly what you can and cannot do in the United States of America. It is also true that the Federal and State government is limited as to what they may do on your behalf. Why, the answer is simple it is so that you have the freedom to decide what you choose to do with your faith, family, finances and whatever else effects your personal life.

So you think socialism is better. What is democratic socialism like? Take a look at England one of the best examples. Want to watch TV that will cost you $150.00 just to have the television in your house. Watering your lawn costs you money a mere $25.00 per sprinkler. In addition, of course this is America so everyone has an automobile that will be $300.00 per vehicle per year. Then there was the screen tax, you know the screens on the window in your home, approximately $20.00 per window. Moreover, let us not forget the value added tax of 17% on everything purchased or consumed by you the individual. However, gut feeling says they have not gone down. One last thought on this all of these taxes are in addition to your normal cost example: your home cost $100,000.00 the value added tax would be 17% which is $17,000.00 then you would have a commission to the real estate agent 6% which is $6,000.00. Let us see that $100,000.00 + $17,000.00 + 6000.00 = $123,000.00 and you have not talked with the bank about a loan yet. Now these are just a few of the taxes remembered from living in England from 1989 until 1992. One cannot be sure of the current rates or taxes in 2008.

Do not let the package fool you socialism is expensive dear reader. It is the belief of this writer that Senator Obama goal is for America to become a socialist government where the individual control of the American citizen is severely weakened or removed.

A SLIPPERY SLOPE INDEED

What a difference personal responsibility makes as a child of sixty’s homes were lost due to financial difficulty, loss of income, poor health you name it and the U.S. Government was not responsible for your miss fortune. Banks were responsible to their depositors for the proper use and safeguard of the funds entrusted to them. People never received mailed unsolicited credit as a line of unsecured debit; rather you had to have enough money in your personal account to cover the line of credit.

In the past forty plus years, Banks and lenders have become irresponsible and people have become greedy. For months now, warning after warning regarding the economic future of America laid out daily and the greed of people has made them too blind to see. IT IS TIME TO PAY ATTENTION … it may be too late for some.

A roof over your head is the issue here not keeping up with the neighbor across the street or the one next door. In case you missed it, the U.S. Government is now the conservator for both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Not a big deal you say think again … “The downside is that American taxpayers, as was implicit in the business model of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, may be on the hook for as much as $200 billion to bail out what were essentially private mortgage contracts.”

Additionally, there is the Wall Street Bail out $700 billion to those who made greedy choices to make more money than the average person could see in two or three life times. The truth is it may cost an additional $500 billion to get America out of this mess. Do the math 200+700+500= 1,400,000,000,000.00 in secured funds of taxpayer money.

Here is the next math problem how much will this cost each of us? $1,400,000,000,000.00/400,000,000= 3500.00 for each legal man woman and child in the United States of America. Let us say you have 3 small children a husband and wife; this is 5 people multiplied by $3500.00 which equals $17,500.00 for this size family. At $100.00, a month the pay out is 14.58 years

Initial data from based on 211 proxy statements filed through April 9, 2008, indicate the median compensation package received by a Chief Executive Officer was 8.8 million. The number sound big it is. One Million at an interest rate of 4.0% will generate $33,333.33 a month. Considering this is a median income that means 96 families could have a reasonable income from the one CEO and the CEO would still be making $800,000.00 a year or 66,666.66 a month. Sounds like fair compensation to this writer. According to The Corporate Library in 2007, the CEO of a Standard & Poor’s 500 company received, on average, $14.2 million in total compensation. You can do the math on that one.

Our taxes had at work; do not think we get off the hook free. Government oversight is necessary of that there is no doubt however; the oversight needs to require that executives walking away with multi-million dollar paychecks when their company fails becomes unacceptable
